Laurence L. Gottlieb, Chairman and CEO
Laurence L. Gottlieb is the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Fundamental Advisors LP ("Fundamental"). Mr. Gottlieb has focused his career on revitalizing distressed assets and businesses. Prior to founding Fundamental, Mr. Gottlieb was Co-head of Citigroup's Municipal Distressed & Special Situations Proprietary Trading Desk. In this position, Mr. Gottlieb focused on investments in high-yield and distressed municipal bonds, securities that were owned and traded on a proprietary basis by Citigroup and generally secured by real estate, operating businesses and other assets. Prior to joining Citigroup, Mr. Gottlieb served as Senior Vice President at C.A.K. Universal Credit Corporation, a subsidiary of Prudential Securities. He began his professional career practicing law in Los Angeles at the law firm of McDermott, Will & Emery where he specialized in distressed asset/business restructurings, insolvency proceedings and complex commercial matters. Mr. Gottlieb earned his J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and his B.A. cum laude from Boston University. Following law school, he was admitted to the California Bar in Los Angeles where he served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Kathleen T.Lax, United States Bankruptcy Judge, Central District of California. Mr. Gottlieb currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Starlight Children's Foundation and the Metro New York Chapter of Young Presidents' Organization (YPO). Mr. Gottlieb also serves on the Board of Directors of the Metro New York Chapter of Young Presidents' Organization (YPO).
Hector Negroni, Principal
Hector Negroni is the Co-Founder, Co-Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Investment Officer of Fundamental Credit Opportunities (FCO). Mr. Negroni has been a pioneer in proprietary trading in the municipal market for over 20 years, leading innovation in public/ private financing, military housing privatization, basis arbitrage, Tender Option Bond securitization, municipal derivatives, and a host of structured solutions. Prior to forming FCO, he was the head of municipal trading at Goldman Sachs, overseeing all capital commitments, flow trading, money markets, collateralized lending and issuer derivatives. Mr. Negroni joined Goldman Sachs as a Managing Director in 2005, to build and lead the Municipal Proprietary Trading and Structured Products businesses. He later assumed responsibility for the broader municipal trading franchise in 2007. Prior to joining Goldman, Mr. Negroni ran the municipal structured arbitrage desk at Société Générale. Mr. Negroni began his career in municipal securities at Citigroup and Lazard Fréres in various proprietary and structuring roles. Mr. Negroni recently served on the Municipal Division Executive Committee of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA). He earned a B.S.E. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dana S. Fusaris, Managing Director
Dana S. Fusaris, CFA, is a Principal, Managing Director and Co-Founder of Fundamental Advisors. She is a member of the Management Team and Senior Investment Team. Ms. Fusaris has spent the entirety of her career as a distressed and special situations investor, and for more than a decade, has focused solely on the municipal markets. Prior to joining Fundamental, she was a Portfolio Director at Madison Capital Management, where she developed a new area of investing for the firm, leading the practice in the distressed and defaulted municipal bond investment arena. Ms. Fusaris holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts. In 2014, Dana became a member of The Committee of 200, (C200), an invitation-only membership organization of the world’s most successful women business leaders. She is a frequent speaker at various industry events including municipal finance, healthcare, senior housing and tribal gaming. Ms. Fusaris graduated from Fairfield University’s Graduate School of Business with an M.B.A. in Finance and obtained a B.S. in Accounting at the University of Southern Mississippi while playing tennis for four years on athletic scholarship. Ms. Fusaris is actively involved with several charitable organizations including Project Safeguard, the International Rett Syndrome Foundation and Minute Mentoring.
Justin M. Vinci, Chief Financial Officer
Justin Vinci is the Chief Financial Officer at Fundamental and a member of the Senior Management Team. Mr. Vinci oversees Fundamental’s Financial Control Group with responsibility for the firm’s financial management, accounting, financial and tax reporting, internal controls, treasury functions, and other operations. Prior to joining Fundamental in 2008, Mr. Vinci served three years at Ernst & Young in Assurance and Advisory, where he was a Senior Associate responsible for audit and transaction advisory services, specializing in private equity clients. Mr. Vinci received his Masters of Professional Accounting and B.B.A. from the University of Miami, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Robyn A. Huffman, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer
Robyn A. Huffman is General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Fundamental and is a member of the Senior Management Team. Ms. Huffman is responsible for overseeing Fundamental’s compliance program and legal matters. Prior to joining Fundamental, Ms. Huffman was a Managing Director and Associate General Counsel at Goldman Sachs, where she spent sixteen years managing legal and regulatory matters for Goldman’s fixed income businesses in the U.S. At Goldman, she had diverse product-level responsibilities as well as regulatory and compliance duties. Prior to her tenure at Goldman, Ms. Huffman was a partner in the New York office of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, where her practice focused on debt financings for state and local government capital projects, municipal asset securitizations, debt restructuring and complex project finance transactions with a municipal component. Ms. Huffman earned both her B.A. and J.D. from the University of Illinois, where she was a member of the Law Review.
Bruce Kayle, Senior Advisor
Bruce Kayle is a Senior Advisor at Fundamental. Prior to joining Fundamental, Mr. Kayle spent twenty-four years as a partner in the New York office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP, where he was the longtime Chair of the firm’s Tax Group, and also had served on the firm’s Executive Committee. Before his time at Milbank, Mr. Kayle served on the prestigious staff of the Joint Committee on Taxation of the U.S. Congress where he participated in the formulation and implementation of the Tax Reform Act of 1986. Mr. Kayle received his J.D. from Harvard Law School and his B.A. and B.S.E. degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. He has consistently been listed in The Best Lawyers in America, the Legal 500, Chambers USA and Chambers Global “The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business.” He is a member of the Board of Directors of MFY Legal Services Inc. and has received numerous pro bono recognition and leadership awards from the Legal Aid Society and Legal Services—NYC.
